Job summary

Paspaley is seeking an experienced Trade Assistant / Assistant Farm Mechanic for its Darwin Engineering Division. The role is FIFO out of Darwin (2 on 1 off) to pearl farm sites, performing servicing, repairs and material handling on pearling vessels and equipment.

The successful candidate will have mechanical experience, a valid driver’s license, full work rights in Australia, and must pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test. Darwin residency or willingness to relocate is required.

We seek an experienced and reliable Trade Assistant / Assistant farm Mechanic to work in our Darwin Engineering Division. The position is FIFO - based out of Darwin (2 on 1 off) to our remote Pearl farm sites carrying out the below tasks on our pearling vessels and associated machinery:

• Scheduled servicing
• Breakdown repairs
• Parts ordering
• Ad hoc repairs
• Site Preparation: Setting up and cleaning workspaces
• Tool and Equipment Handling: Transporting materials, cleaning tools, and operating equipment.
• Safety Duties: Monitoring workspaces for hazards and complying with strict OH&S standards.
• Assisting other trades

Desired Skills And Experience

The successful candidates must:

• Have Mechanical experience
• Hold a current driver's license
• Have Australian Citizenship or Residency with full work rights
• Be able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol test
• Be a resident of Darwin or willing to relocate, this position is Darwin based.

Applicants with previous labour experience, forklift license and first aid qualification will be highly regarded.
