Job summary

ACT Digital in Canberra seeks an Assistant Director, Identity and Digital Service Policy to shape Digital Identity policy, with focus on privacy, consent, verifiable credentials and trusted service delivery. The role develops high‑quality policy and advice for the ACT community.

You will build policy frameworks for the ACT Digital Account, collaborate across agencies and jurisdictions to foster interoperable identity ecosystems, and prepare briefs and submissions for senior executives.

Qualifications

• Experience developing policy, strategy or advisory products and turning complex issues into practical recommendations.
• Strong writing and oral communication skills for cross-agency engagement.
• Interest in Digital Identity, privacy, trust, inclusion and government service delivery.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced team.
• Collaborative, adaptive approach aligned with ACTPS values and behaviours.
• Contribute to nationally significant policy work shaping how people prove who they are.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality Digital Identity policy and advice on privacy, consent, verifiable credentials and trusted service delivery.
• Shape policy frameworks underpinning the ACT Digital Account and government services.
• Support cross-government and cross-jurisdiction meetings to advance interoperable identity ecosystems.
• Build relationships with policy, technical and service-delivery stakeholders and translate issues into practical briefings.
• Prepare briefs, submissions, reports and discussion papers for senior executives and key forums.
