Job summary

Multiplex is seeking an Assistant Design Manager to support the delivery of design across the Coomera Hospital project in Queensland. You will coordinate design consultants, manage documentation, and work with client, consultants, subcontractors and site teams to resolve design issues and maintain alignment with the construction programme.

The role requires a proactive, collaborative design professional with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and around five years of construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Around five years' relevant experience in construction with design and project delivery exposure.
• Experience coordinating design documentation with consultants, subcontractors and delivery teams.
• Solid understanding of design principles, buildability and construction documentation delivery.
• Commercial and financial understanding of the construction industry, including estimating and procurement processes.
• Ability to monitor design deliverables against programme, cost and quality requirements.
• Experience identifying and assisting with management of design risks, variations and value opportunities.
• Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant design compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across client, consultant, subcontractor, commercial and site teams.
• Proactive and collaborative approach to drive design activities through to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities from development through construction and completion.
• Coordinate design consultants and manage documentation and key design interfaces.
• Work with client, consultants, subcontractors and construction teams to resolve design issues.
• Maintain alignment with the construction programme and buildability requirements.
• Support multiple disciplines and prioritize design activities to ensure timely delivery.
