Job summary

JANA Investment Advisers is seeking an Assistant Accountant for a full-time fixed-term contract in our Sydney office. You will work with the Head of Finance and a small team to support day-to-day financial operations for a leading investment advisory firm with a blue-chip client base.

The role requires 2+ years in a similar accounting position, strong Excel skills, and hands-on experience with Xero. Prior experience with Power BI is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong MS Office skills.
• Strong General Ledger posting, account reconciliations and audit working papers.
• Structured weekly and monthly accounting cycles with attention to detail.
• Clear communication and client-focused teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day support of revenue, expense and payroll processing.
• Administer monthly General Ledger close, including postings and reconciliations.
• Oversee interfaces between banking, ADP, ExpenseMe and the General Ledger (Xero).
• Post and reconcile client revenue and receivables.
• Prepare monthly General Ledger reconciliations and supporting working papers.
• Provide ad hoc support for finance team tasks.
