Job summary

Internationalinsuranceprofessionals in Western Australia is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support day‑to‑day finance functions and contribute to system improvements. Reporting directly to the CFO and working with an experienced finance team, you will manage AP/AR, expenses, reconciliations and month‑end tasks while building technical accounting skills toward CPA or CA studies.

This role provides direct mentorship, exposure to a broad range of accounting and financial reporting activities,

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance, completed or nearing completion.
• Experience in Accounts, Bookkeeping, Finance Officer or Assistant Accountant role.
• Strong understanding of AP/AR, reconciliations and journals.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Good communication and willingness to grow toward CPA/CA.

Responsibilities

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
• Managing employee expenses, payment runs and banking transactions
• Preparing reconciliations across bank, supplier, debtor and balance sheet accounts
• Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting activities
• Supporting audit, tax and statutory compliance requirements
• Maintaining financial records, master data and internal controls
• Providing support to finance system users and assisting with process improvements
• Contributing to budgeting, forecasting and cash flow activities as responsibilities develop
