Job summary

Ultimate Security Australia is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis. You will support day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, assisting with reporting and compliance activities, and contributing to the organisation's financial success.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline with a minimum of two years of accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Familiarity with MYOB or other accounting systems is desirable.
• Experience in accounts payable and receivable processing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Processing and reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts and ensuring accuracy of financial records.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Recording journal entries and posting transactions to the appropriate accounts.
• Assisting with payroll processing and related compliance matters.
• Maintaining organised financial documentation and filing systems.
• Liaising with internal departments and external vendors regarding accounting matters.
