Job summary

Swing City Pty Ltd is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team at Swing City Norwest. The role covers day‑to‑day financial operations including Accounts Payable/Receivable, payroll, reconciliations and reporting across venues.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in a similar finance role, strong Xero and Excel skills, and a relevant qualification. This casual position offers regular weekday hours and school‑friendly shifts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Experience across payroll, AP, AR and reconciliations.
• Strong Xero and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Xero Certification and a bookkeeping qualification preferred.

Swing City is a world‑class entertainment hub bringing together the best of golf technology, entertainment, food and drink. With venues currently operating in Norwest and Canberra, and further expansion plans underway, we are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our growing Finance team.

Based at Swing City Norwest, you will report directly to the Finance Manager and provide hands‑on support across the day‑to‑day financial operations of the business. This is a varied role covering accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations and financial reporting across our venues.

This is a casual position offering regular, weekday hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm, Monday to Friday. The hours are ideally suited to someone looking for a role that fits within school hours while providing consistent working hours each week.

Expected responsibilities of this role will include:

• Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Processing supplier invoices, payments and customer receipts
• Performing bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing payroll and maintaining accurate employee payroll records
• Assisting with superannuation, payroll tax and payroll compliance requirements
• Preparing general ledger journals and maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with month‑end and year‑end reporting
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
• Assisting with BAS and other statutory reporting requirements
• Reconciling supplier and customer accounts and investigating discrepancies
• Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters
• Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis

A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer, Bookkeeper or similar finance role is required. You must have demonstrated experience across payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and reconciliations, together with strong Xero and Microsoft Excel skills. Xero Certification and a qualification in Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping will be highly regarded.

You will be highly organised, reliable and accurate, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and employee information.

Experience within a multi‑site, hospitality, entertainment or similarly fast‑paced business environment will be highly regarded.
