Job summary

Autoleague's ZEEKR Essendon is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to support month-end processing, reconciliations and reporting, based at Essendon Fields.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller and dealership leadership, developing skills across accounting and administration while enjoying ongoing training and clear career progression within Australia's automotive group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related discipline (completed or in progress).
• Progress towards or interest in CA/CPA studies is highly regarded.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail required.
• Experience with month-end, reconciliations and financial reporting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end processing.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations (bank, stock, debtors, creditors).
• Data entry and maintenance of financial records.
• Assist in preparation of Trial Balance, Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss.
• Support BAS preparation, cash flow reporting and budget tracking.
• Assist with financial statements and management reporting.

🔎 About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support the finance function across a variety of accounting and administrative responsibilities, including:

• Assisting with month-end and year-end processing
• Preparing and maintaining account reconciliations, including bank, stock, debtors and creditors
• Accurate data entry and maintenance of financial records
• Assisting in the preparation of Trial Balance, Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reports
• Supporting BAS preparation and compliance requirements
• Assisting with cash flow reporting and budget tracking
• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and asset management records
• Assisting with management reporting and financial analysis
• Ensuring financial documentation and records remain accurate and compliant

👤 About You

You are a motivated and detail-focused finance professional who enjoys working collaboratively and is keen to develop your accounting career. You'll bring:

• Previous experience in a finance, accounts or assistant accountant role
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using financial systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Progress towards or interest in pursuing CA/CPA studies (highly regarded)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline (completed or in progress)
