Job summary

Eagers Automotive, Australia’s largest automotive retail group, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support month-end reporting and financial processes across our Brisbane network. You’ll assist with journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and budgeting, while developing your technical and commercial accounting skills.

You’ll bring accounting qualifications, strong Excel capabilities, high attention to detail and excellent communication to engage with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or progress towards CPA or CA accreditation.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• Experience in automotive retail, dealership accounting, or a multi-site environment will be highly regarded.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the finance and accounting functions of the business. This position offers exposure to a wide range of accounting activities and the opportunity to develop your technical and commercial capabilities. Key responsibilities include:
