Job summary

The Cordina Group in Sydney is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join on a temporary 6-month contract. You will support the Finance team across day-to-day accounting, month-end processes and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and CPA progress. CPA or progress toward completion highly regarded as the business continues through a system implementation.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting functions across all associated companies.
• Assist weekly and month-end processing.
• Reconcile accounts monthly.
• Prepare and issue internal business reports.
• Assist in improving the reports by utilising advanced Excel skills.
• Analyze costs and overheads, providing analysis and commentary on key variances.
• Assist with preparation and analysis of weekly business results.
• Review and check batch payments for accuracy and completeness. Load and authorise batch payments.
• Assist in various functions in the accounting team including AP & AR as required.
• Actively participating in projects such as system integration.

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join The Cordina Group on a temporary basis for a 6 month contract.

Reporting to theGroup Finance Manager, this temporary role will support the Finance team across a broad range of accounting, finance and administration duties. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day financial operations, month-end processes, reporting requirements and general accounting support across the organisation.

To be considered for this temporary opportunity, you will have prior accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment. CPA qualification or progress towards completion will be highly regarded. You will bring strong commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal skills and advanced Excel capability, particularly as the business continues through a system implementation.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting accounting functions across all associated companies

About you:

• CPA qualified or working towards completion
• 2–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
• Advanced Excel skills and exposure to ERP systems
• BI report writing skills
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to prioritise, with excellent time management skills
• Confident and engaging communication skills
