Job summary

Georges River Council seeks an Asset Engineer to support sustainable management of its diverse asset portfolio. You’ll work within the assets and traffic team to ensure asset information is accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose, enabling informed decisions for long-term service delivery.

The role combines technical analysis with strategic thinking, involving condition and risk assessments, asset planning, and contributing to financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, asset management or equivalent experience.
• Current Class C Drivers Licence.
• Construction Induction (White Card).
• Ability to interpret design drawings.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to produce accurate, clear, concise, and timely reports.
• Knowledge of civil engineering modelling software, GIS and CAD.
• Sound computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve asset data quality and accuracy.
• Conduct condition and risk assessments of assets.
• Support asset planning, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders across Council.
• Assist in procurement activities related to assets.
