Job description

Make a real difference to the infrastructure of our community

We are seeking two (2) practical, capable and process-oriented Asset Systems Officers to assist in the continuous improvement of our asset management function.

This is an opportunity for someone who can bring together engineering understanding, financial acumen and strong systems/data capability and use those skills to support better decisions across council.

About the Role

You will play an important role in maintaining and improving Council's asset information and systems, supporting asset planning and lifecycle management, and turning infrastructure data into useful financial and operational information.

You will work closely with our finance and works department helping Council understand:

  • What assets we have and where they are
  • Asset condition, value, risk and maintenance needs
  • When assets need renewal or replacement
  • How better system data can improve decision-making
  • Has an understanding of engineering, infrastructure or asset management
  • Is confident working with financial information, budgets, forecasting, data, and reconciliations
  • Has strong systems, Excel, GIS, database or asset management system capability
  • Can analyse information and turn it into practical recommendations
  • Is pro-active, organised, curious and willing to get into the details
  • Can work effectively across technical, operational and financial teams
  • Is committed to making a genuine contribution to our shire and our community

That's okay.

We are deliberately looking beyond traditional asset management roles. You may come from engineering, works, GIS, finance, mining, utilities, construction or infrastructure.

Experience in Local Government is valuable, but the right mindset and transferrable skills are more important.

If you're someone who understands how things work, is comfortable with numbers and systems, and wants a role where your work has a tangible community impact, we'd like to hear from you.

What We Offer:
  • 9-day fortnight, in a secure full-time position
  • Flexibility which may extend to a possible 4-day week arrangement (35 hours per week)
  • Long service leave entitlements after 5 years
  • The salary range for this position is currently within the range of $1,467.79 to $1,687.96 per week + Super

Please note that pre-employment checks, including hearing and drug & alcohol screening will be required

Our Commitment to Safety

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful and healthy working environment for all staff. You'll be expected to actively participate in safety training, follow Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures, and contribute to the development of safe work practices
