Job summary

NSW Department of Education seeks an Asset Services Officer in Tamworth to provide asset services to a group of schools and support project delivery across the Asset Management region.

You will liaise with consultants and contractors, deliver capital works and facilities management, prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, and build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure compliant, high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Desirable: Construction Project Management or trade experience.
• Excellent customer service when dealing with stakeholders.
• Ability to write scopes, estimate costs and manage budgets.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal Education Policy and NSW AECG partnership.

Responsibilities

• Provide asset services to a group of schools within the Asset Management region.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors and staff to support project phases.
• Deliver capital works projects and facilities management activities.
• Support timely project delivery and budget management.
• Prepare scope documents and estimate project costs; manage budgets.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders in schools and communities to enable asset management services.
• Advise principals on lease/licence arrangements and procure service providers.
• Monitor progress and report in line with processes; analyse financial positions to support recommendations.
• Contribute to technical specs and layouts for minor facilities projects.
