Job summary

Federation Council is seeking an experienced Asset Officer to support the lifecycle of civil infrastructure. Based in Corowa, you will inspect assets, rate conditions, and help prepare capital and maintenance programs, while supervising contracts and delivering excellent service.

You should have over 5 years in Asset Management, a valid Class C licence, and strong communication skills to engage with the public and external agencies, contributing to community resilience.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of Asset Management experience, including condition rating and program prep for construction/maintenance.
• Current and valid Class C Driver's Licence.
• Knowledge of roads, bridges, footpaths and drainage assets, with inspection/maintenance/repair focus on roads.
• Demonstrated initiative in solving problems, improving methods and productivity, and ability to seek guidance when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication to support public and external agency consultation.

The opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Asset Officer to take on a crucial role within our Infrastructure Unit. Reporting directly to the Asset Management Coordinator, your role will be centred on supporting the entire lifecycle of our critical civil infrastructure.

In this role you will be:

• Conducting inspections, determining asset condition ratings, and managing asset data entry.
• Assist with preparation of capital and maintenance works programs through compiling cost estimates and documentation to meet service levels and Asset Management Plans.
• Supervising contracts and delivering excellent customer service.

What you will bring:

• A solid, demonstrable understanding of current design, construction, and maintenance standards for roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
• Proven experience in conducting thorough field inspections and managing accurate data collection to inform strategic asset decisions.

Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications.

• At least over 5 years of experience in Asset Management, specifically undertaking condition rating and preparation of construction and maintenance programs.
• Current and valid class C Drivers Licence.
• Knowledge of infrastructure assets such as roads, bridges, footpath, & drainage assets, specifically in inspecting, maintaining and repair of, particularly roads.
• Demonstrated history of showing initiative in solving problems, improving methods and productivity and ability to seek guidance where required.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $1,574.60 per week with progression up to $1,738.20 per week dependent upon skills and experience.
