Job summary

KBR, Inc. in Sydney seeks an Asset Management Specialist to drive asset optimisation and RAM/RCM/LORA initiatives. You will report to the Engineering Manager and ensure delivery of the Asset Optimisation Program, with a focus on compliant, safe operations and data integrity.

Qualified candidates bring RAM/FMECA expertise, lifecycle analysis skills, and the ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams within a defence-oriented environment. Baseline Defence clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • RAM and FMECA expertise demonstrated in engineering projects.
  • Experience with Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and LORA.
  • Ability to translate needs into clear engineering specs within regulatory contexts.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and lifecycle cost considerations.
  • Eligibility for ITAR clearance and Baseline Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PO data cleansing and validation across MSD and clean up POs and data anomalies.
  • Lead asset optimisation activities, including supervision and planning aligned with schedules.
  • Drive process improvements to improve reliability, availability and maintainability.
  • Monitor progress, resolve delays, and manage at-risk tasks to stay on schedule.
  • Identify and mitigate risks with Engineering Manager, perform root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineers to refine designs and maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure compliance, governance and documentation standards are met; foster cross-functional relations.

The Asset Management Specialistreportsdirectly to the EngineeringManagerto assure delivery oftheAsset OptimisationProgram activities in accordance with thearearequirements and the approved Asset Management Plan.

TheAsset ManagementSpecialistholds an Engineering delegation, executes risk based technical advice on sustainmentoptimisationactivities in support of thePrincipal Engineer (PE).

This is a permanent full-time opportunity and based inSydney.

The successfulcandidate musthold aBaselinesecurity clearanceor higher.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead PO data cleansing and validation activities across MSD, including closing redundant or inactive POs and correcting data anomalies
  • Lead and deliver asset optimisation activities, including stakeholder supervision, integration planning, and alignment with program schedules.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance system reliability, availability, and maintainability within contract boundaries.
  • Monitor optimisation progress, proactively resolve delays, and manage critical or at-risk tasks to keep delivery on track.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate risks such as resource constraints, schedule conflicts, and system issues in collaboration with the Engineering Manager.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and condition monitoring to identify failure modes and implement corrective maintenance and engineering improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to refine designs, maintenance strategies, specifications, and develop cost-effective reliability improvement business cases.
  • Ensure compliance, governance, and documentation standards are met while fostering strong cross‑functional relationships, stakeholder engagement, and a safe, integrated team environment.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
  • Demonstratedexperiencein Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) and FMECA, with at least 5 years of practical application in engineering projects.
  • Strong experience in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
  • Proven ability to analyse system needs and requirements, translating them into clear, actionable engineering specifications.
  • Sound judgement in making engineering decisions within complex regulatory environments, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building capabilities with both clients and internal teams.
  • Experience supporting reliability outcomes through lifecycle analysis, including Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis and spares modelling (desirable).
  • Relevant qualifications and industry exposure, such as an engineering degree (or equivalent), change management experience, defence industry background, and eligibility for ITAR clearance.
