Job summary

The University of Tasmania is seeking an Asset Maintenance Planner to join the Facilities Management team in Launceston. You will coordinate maintenance planning, support preventative programs, and ensure accurate asset data across CMMS systems.

Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, you will analyse asset condition and service delivery data to prioritise work, support lifecycle planning, and coordinate contractor activities to deliver safe, timely outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in facilities management, asset management, engineering, building services, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, asset information management, or CMMS administration in a complex environment.
• Proven ability to maintain accurate asset and maintenance records and analyze data to support planning and service improvement.
• Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder correspondence.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills to support practical, risk-informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and continuously improve maintenance planning and scheduling activities for built environment assets across the University.
• Support development, implementation, and optimisation of preventative maintenance programs and CMMS processes.
• Maintain integrity of asset and maintenance data, including capital works and operational changes.
• Analyse maintenance condition, performance, and service delivery data to inform prioritisation and lifecycle planning.
• Coordinate and monitor rectification works arising from inspections, audits and provider reports ensuring safety and compliance.
• Contribute to lifecycle costing and asset renewal planning for essential infrastructure assets.
