Job summary

Griffith City Council is seeking an Assessment Officer to assess development proposals, provide recommendations and deliver general advice in relation to town planning, development assessment and construction certificates.

You will hold a Diploma in Town Planning or an equivalent qualification and demonstrate sound knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and the Environment Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 as amended.

Salary: Commencement annual salary range from $82,506.84 to $90,761.32 (Grade 12), plus superannuation.

Employment Type: Permanent, (35 hours per week)

About the Role

The purpose of the Assessment Officer position is to assess development proposals, provide recommendations, and deliver general advice in relation to town planning, development assessment and construction certificates. The position is responsible for ensuring that assessments and recommendations are undertaken consistently, accurately and in accordance with relevant environmental planning instruments, policies and applicable planning legislation.

The successful applicant will hold a Diploma in Town Planning or an equivalent qualification and demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and the Environment Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000, as amended from time to time.
