Job summary

Griffith City Council is seeking a Community Development Officer for a 12-month maternity term. The role will deliver social and cultural programs aligned with the Council's Strategic Plan, including the Community Grants program, Citizenship ceremonies and Australia Day.

You will collaborate with communities, build relationships and contribute to a meaningful local impact. The role requires a Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent experience, a NSW driver licence, and a NSW Working

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Community Services or demonstrated experience in community development.
• Current NSW driver licence and NSW Working With Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Implement social and cultural elements of Council’s Strategic Plan and deliver programs and projects for community members.
• Deliver programs such as Community Grants, Citizenship ceremonies and Australia Day events.
• Occasional work outside of ordinary hours and on weekends.

Position Title: Community Development Officer (12 month maternity term appointment)

Closing Date: 28 September 2026

Salary: Commencement annual salary range from $82,506.84 to $90,761.32 (Grade 12), plus superannuation.

Employment Type: 12 month Term. (35 hours per week)

About the Role

The Community Development Officer will implement the social and cultural elements of Council’s Strategic Plan and be responsible for delivering a range of programs and projects for members of the community. Some including the Community Grants program, Citizenships and The Australia Day Ceremony. This role will require occasional work outside of office hours and on weekends.

Qualifications: The successful applicant is required to hold a Certificate IV in Community Services or other relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience relevant to community development, a current NSW driver licence and a current NSW Working With Children Check number for validation.
