Job summary

Assembly Technician

Enjoy building things, working with your hands and tinkering with electronics?

We're looking for a practical, hands-on person to join our production team at Regala in Toowoomba.

This is a factory-based assembly position, where you'll be putting together large automated gates, fitting mechanical components, wiring low-voltage electrical systems and testing finished products before they leave our workshop.

If you're mechanically minded, comfortable using tools and have an interest in electronics, this could be a great fit.

You don't need experience with gates or formal trade qualifications. We're looking for someone with practical ability, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assembling large sliding gates and fitting mechanical components, including rollers, motors and drive systems.
• Installing and wiring low-voltage electrical components, including motors, batteries, solar systems and access control equipment.
• Setting up, programming and testing automated gate systems.
• Using hand tools and power tools to complete assembly work.
• Following assembly procedures and completing final quality checks.
• Identifying problems and helping find practical solutions.
• Occasionally assisting with technical troubleshooting.

This is a workshop assembly role, not an on-site installation position.

What We're Looking For

• Good mechanical aptitude and practical hands-on experience.
• Confidence using hand tools and power tools.
• Some understanding of basic electronics or 12V wiring would be highly regarded.
• An interest in learning how electrical and mechanical systems work.
• Good attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A reliable, positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Experience with mechanical assembly, automotive accessories, electronics, machinery or fabrication would be an advantage.

No electrical licence or formal trade qualification is required.
