Walsh Gates designs, fabricates and installs premium automatic gates for commercial, industrial and high-end residential clients across South East Queensland.

We’re looking for a licensed Electrician to join our team. You might already work in the automatic gate industry and want a business that values your experience – or you might be a sparky looking for a change, ready to step out of the construction site and into an exciting niche trade.

About the Role

Based in Brisbane and working across South East Queensland, you’ll install, commission and service:

• Gate operators for sliding, swing and cantilever gates
• Boom gates and access control systems
• Automation controls, safety devices and wiring
• Custom-built gate systems for high-end sites

This role is a genuine mix of electrical and mechanical work. One day you’re fault-finding a control board, the next you’re adjusting drive gears or setting limits on a heavy commercial gate. No two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in gate automation systems
• Install and commission gate operators, boom gates and automation controls
• Work closely with our installation teams to deliver seamless, high-quality projects
• Conduct site assessments and provide clear service reports

About You

• Hold a current QLD Electrical Licence
• Either have experience in gate automation or access control, or be keen to learn a specialist trade
• Enjoy the mechanical side of things as much as the electrical
• Like working outdoors and being out on the road rather than stuck on one site
• Have strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Communicate clearly with clients and teammates
• Be detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety
