Top Office in Brisbane is seeking an Assembly Leading Hand for a manufacturing operation producing industrial poles. This temp-to-perm role offers casual rate of $47.50 per hour and a Monday to Thursday 7.00 am to 3.20 pm schedule with a Friday half-day, 7.00 am to 1.00 pm. Start asap.

The role focuses on leading the assembly team, ensuring throughput and quality, reading workshop drawings, and supervising staff while maintaining WHS standards.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to perform the role.
• Current forklift ticket with at least 2 years’ experience.
• Read and understand workshop drawings for assembly.
• Team player with attention to detail and WHS compliance.
• Tools used include hand, battery and some air tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead assembly team to ensure strong throughput and quality.
• Operate manufacturing tools and equipment for assembly and production.
• Lead staff by giving clear direction and providing tools/instructions.
• Supervise assembly staff and read workshop drawings.
• Oversee packing and QA of finished product.
• Perform basic quality checks and recognise faults.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading of trucks and act as backup for yard.

Job description

We are seeking an Assembly Leading Hand for a manufacturer of industrial purpose poles (supplying to electrical industries through to traffic, stadium lighting, security and more). This is an opportunity to get your foot in the door with an Australian owned industry leader with over 26 years history. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity with a casual rate of $47.50 per hour. Monday to Thursday 7.00 am to 3.20 pm and half day on Friday 7.00 am to 1.00 pm. Start asap.

Duties include:

• Assembly leading hand is responsible to work with the team ensuring strong throughput and quality of work through assembly.
• Use of manufacturing tools & equipment for assembly and production of finished product
• Required to lead staff give clear direction provide tools and instructions for staff to perform their duties.
• Supervise assembly staff and understand assembly of products including reading and understanding workshop drawings
• Oversee and assist in preparation, packing and QA of product.
• Understand and undertake basic quality control procedures including the ability to recognise basic faults.
• Attention to detail and appropriate handling of products
• Ensure loading and unloading of trucks is done safely and in a timely manner, act as backup for yardperson as required.
