Job summary

IGT is seeking a Production Assembler in Erskine Park, NSW, to support subassembly, assembly, testing and inspection of electronic, electrical and mechanical components. You will work to approved manufacturing instructions, quality requirements and WHS standards to ensure safe, efficient production of high-quality products.

You may be assigned to different products, workstations or stages of the process based on production needs.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing, technical, electrical, mechanical or engineering qualifications or relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar manufacturing role.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and competently.

Responsibilities

• Perform subassembly and assembly of electronic, electrical and mechanical components and finished products.
• Fit components, modules, wiring, harnesses, panels and other product parts per instructions and specifications.
• Perform product configuration and final assembly activities as required.
• Perform transferring and copying of approved game files, software packages and related product data per SOPs and traceability controls.
• Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures and production equipment safely and correctly.
• Read, understand and follow work instructions, assembly procedures, diagrams, checklists and manufacturing documentation.
• Perform approved functional and operational testing of assemblies and completed products.
• Conduct visual and physical inspections for workmanship, appearance, correct component installation, damage, defects and other quality requirements.
• Identify, record and communicate defects, non-conformances, incorrect components and assembly or testing issues.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assembly corrections within training; escalate technical/quality issues when required.
• Complete production, testing, inspection and quality records accurately and maintain traceability.

About The Role

The Production Assembler performs a range of manufacturing activities associated with the production of IGT products. This role covers subassembly, assembly, testing and inspection. The position works to approved manufacturing instructions, procedures, quality requirements and Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard.

Depending on production requirements, the Production Assembler may be assigned to different products, workstations or stages of the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform subassembly and assembly of electronic, electrical and mechanical components and finished products.
• Fit components, modules, wiring, harnesses, panels and other product parts in accordance with approved manufacturing instructions and specifications.
• Perform product configuration and final assembly activities as required.
• Perform transferring and copying of approved game files, software packages and related product data in accordance with approved work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality requirements and traceability controls.
• Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures and production equipment safely and correctly.
• Read, understand and follow work instructions, assembly procedures, diagrams, checklists and manufacturing documentation.
• Perform approved functional and operational testing of assemblies and completed products.
• Conduct visual and physical inspections for workmanship, appearance, correct component installation, damage, defects and other quality requirements.
• Identify, record and communicate defects, non-conformances, incorrect components and assembly or testing issues.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assembly corrections within the employee's training and authorisation; elevate technical or quality issues when required.
• Complete production, testing, inspection and quality records accurately and maintain product traceability.
• Meet agreed production output, quality and efficiency requirements while maintaining workmanship standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workstation and contribute to workplace 5S standards.
• Follow IGT WHS requirements, approved Manufacturing Engineering instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Work collaboratively with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and other supporting functions.
• Support cross-training and work across different manufacturing activities, products and production areas according to operational requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and perform other reasonable production-related duties as assigned.

Core Manufacturing Activities

• Subassembly — Build individual modules, components and assemblies that form part of the finished product.
• Assembly — Complete mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical assembly, component installation, wiring, fitment and final product build.
• Testing — Perform approved functional and operational tests to confirm that the product performs as intended.
• Inspection — Conduct visual, physical and workmanship inspections to verify that products meet specifications and quality standards.

About You

• Relevant manufacturing, technical, electrical, mechanical or engineering qualifications or relevant experience or at least 1-year experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Electronic, electrical or electro-mechanical assembly experience is advantageous.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and competently.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions, procedures and checklists with strong attention to detail.
• Basic troubleshooting, problem-solving and computer skills.
• Ability to identify and communicate quality or production issues.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a production team.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn different products, processes and manufacturing activities.
• Ability to follow workplace health and safety requirements.
