Job summary

Australia Zoo is seeking a Welder to join the Artwork team in a Full Time capacity. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects including concrete work, metal structures and habitat enhancements on-site at the zoo.

Key responsibilities include designing prototypes, preparing material lists, and executing welding and fabrication tasks while upholding safety standards. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Driver’s Licence.
• Holding a construction White Card is essential.
• Full availability including weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
• Welding/Fabrication trade qualification is required.
• Experience in fabrication, metalwork and structural welding is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Construct and assemble projects under the Artwork Manager.
• Create designs and prototypes for review by stakeholders.
• Develop material lists for estimating and ordering.
• Operate a range of power tools and equipment safely.
• Carry out repairs to assets, habitats and facilities.
• Read plans and specifications to determine materials and installation.
