The Motley Bauhaus in Melbourne seeks an experienced General Manager to guide and grow a beloved independent arts venue. You will lead a creative, close-knit team, balance people, programming, finances, and daily operations while staying calm under pressure.

You will work with the Motley Director to shape a sustainable program, strengthen relationships with artists and partners, and maintain a strong cash flow to support future growth.

• Strong budgeting and financial stewardship abilities.
• Clear communication and ability to set expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team and community of the Motley Bauhaus.
• Shape and manage a diverse weekly program across venues.
• Keep finances on track with budgets, costs, and profitability.
• Collaborate with artists and the community to fulfil program goals.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure smooth venue functioning.
• Coordinate production, technical needs, safety, and compliance.
• Develop partnerships and ideas to grow the venue's future.
