Job summary

Thomas Scaffolding in the New England region of NSW is seeking an Area Supervisor to oversee scaffold operations across multiple sites, lead Leading Hands, and ensure on-time delivery with a strong safety focus. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate resources, fix issues on the spot, mentor your team, and maintain high client satisfaction through proactive communication.

Responsibilities

• Schedule labour and transport across sites to keep on-time delivery.
• Be the first call for clients and manage expectations on-site.
• Inspect sites and prepare scopes of work and variations.
• Develop Leading Hands through mentoring and succession planning.
• Enforce safety and compliance on every scaffold and site.
• Drive productivity with smart sequencing and efficient logistics.
• Diagnose and resolve on-site issues quickly to avoid delays.

About the Role

You’ll run scaffold operations across multiple sites in the New England region, reporting to the Operations Manager and overseeing our Leading Hands and Yard Coordinator. As the link between clients and site teams, you’ll juggle competing priorities, make quick calls, and keep every job moving safely and on time.

This role suits someone who leads from the front, is forward-thinking, and calm when things get busy.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

• Schedule labour and transport across multiple sites so every job is resourced and delivered on time.
• Be the first call for clients. Confirm requirements, manage expectations, and fix issues on the spot.
• Inspect sites and complete Scopes of Work and variation scopes, so jobs are quoted, drafted and built right the first time.
• Develop your Leading Hands through mentoring your team to ensure leadership capability grows and qualified successors are developed for key roles.
• Enforce safety and compliance across every scaffold, every site.
• Drive productivity through smart sequencing, tight logistics, and leading from the front.
• Solve problems on the ground before they slow the job down. Diagnose, decide, act.

What You Bring

Non-negotiables:

• Valid Driver's Licence
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Proven experience managing multiple sites and teams simultaneously
• Track record of developing frontline leaders
