Job summary

Yulong Stud in Nagambie, Victoria, seeks an experienced Area Manager to lead one of our farms, overseeing daily operations and driving efficiency across the stud operation. You will manage a team under the Stud Manager, coordinate foaling season preparations, ensure proper feeding and welfare of mares and foals, and maintain accurate health records, liaising with veterinarians and equine specialists.

This role requires strong organisational skills, knowledge of horse nutrition and breeding

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar area.
• Experience in horse nutrition and pasture management preferred.
• Solid understanding of broodmare reproductive system and breeding season logistics.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of one of our farms.
• Lead and develop a team under the Stud Manager and ensure clear communication.
• Assist with foaling preparation and provide support during foaling season.
• Support foaling operations and newborn foal care.
• Ensure mares and foals receive appropriate feed, water and daily care.
• Liaise with veterinarians and farriers to maintain horse health.
• Monitor facilities, paddocks and keep accurate records of horses and movements.
• Oversee daily care and wellbeing of Yearlings and preparation for sales.
