Job description

MAYDAY Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading health and disability services provider to appoint an experienced Area Manager to oversee two sites across the Northern Territory.

This is an opportunity for an experienced people leader to step into a senior operational role, providing leadership across multiple sites and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery for clients living with complex disabilities.

Reporting directly to the Director, Client Services, you will play a key role in leading teams, strengthening operational performance and ensuring a strong culture of person-centred support across your area.

About the opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can confidently move between strategic oversight and frontline operational leadership.

You will be responsible for:
  • Providing leadership and operational oversight across two NT sites
  • Directly leading and developing staff at one site while providing senior leadership to the established Residential Supervisor at the other
  • Ensuring consistent, high-quality and person-centred service delivery across both locations
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing leaders to strengthen their capability and performance
  • Maintaining appropriate staffing levels, supporting recruitment and managing vacancies
  • Supporting rosters, payroll and people management processes
  • Monitoring compliance, quality standards, training and operational requirements
  • Overseeing client intake, referrals and admission processes
  • Managing budgets and contributing to strong financial performance across the area
  • Supporting quality improvement, risk management, health and safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and contributing to broader organisational initiatives
  • Reporting on KPIs, operational outcomes, budgets and performance to the Director, Client Services
About you

We are looking for a confident and experienced people leader who is comfortable operating across multiple sites and can bring structure, accountability and genuine care to their leadership approach.

You will ideally bring:
  • Proven experience leading teams within disability, community services, aged care or a similar human services environment
  • Experience managing across multiple sites or geographically dispersed teams
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and performance management capability
  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs and operational performance
  • A strong understanding of quality, compliance, risk and service delivery requirements
  • The ability to build trust and relationships at all levels of an organisation
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred practice and supporting people with disability to achieve greater choice, independence and participation
  • A Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or Aged Care, along with a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and full Australian Driver’s Licence
Why join?

This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact across two important NT services while working within a larger, well-established health organisation.

You’ll have the autonomy to lead locally while being supported by a broader leadership team, with the Director, Client Services as your direct manager and the wider Executive team providing organisational support and oversight.

If you are an experienced disability or community services leader ready to take ownership of a multi-site portfolio and make a meaningful difference, we'd love to hear from you.
