Job summary

SIXT Australia is seeking an Area Manager to lead our North Lakes and Burpengary locations on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term basis. This hands-on leadership role supports teams on the ground, coaches performance, and ensures the right vehicles are available for customers.

You’ll drive results by coaching staff, managing rostering and labour costs, monitoring KPIs, and maintaining safety and compliance across sites.

Qualifications

• Operational leadership in car rental, transport, logistics, or similar environments.
• People leadership: coach staff and drive accountability.
• Customer focus: handle escalations and deliver service outcomes.
• Commercial awareness: KPI budgeting and operational reporting.
• Planning & problem solving: prioritise and resolve issues effectively.
• Hands-on approach: lead by example and support frontline operations.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll support your teams on the ground, coach performance, solve operational challenges,and ensure the right vehicles are available for customers.

Your Role

• Lead the overall performance of the North Lakes and Burpengary locations.
• Coach and develop team members to achieve customer service, sales, and operational targets.
• Build a positive, accountable, and high‑performing team culture through effective performance management and feedback.
• Resolve customer escalations and support the team in delivering outstanding service.
• Manage rostering, productivity, and labour costs to meet operational needs.
• Support fleet planning and vehicle availability to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Monitor KPIs and branch performance, implementing action plans where required.
• Maintain safety, compliance, and operational standards across both locations.

Your Skills

• Operational Leadership: Experience leading teams within car rental, transport, logistics, fleet, tourism, hospitality, accommodation or similar operational environments.
• People Leadership: Proven ability to coach staff, manage performance and create a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Customer Focus: Experience handling customer issues, resolving escalations, and driving positive service outcomes.
• Commercial Awareness: Comfortable working with KPIs, budgets, productivity measures and operational reporting.
• Planning & Problem Solving: Able to manage competing priorities, solve operational challenges, and keep operations running smoothly.
• Hands‑On Approach: Willing to support frontline operations when required and lead by example. This is not a desk‑based leadership role.

Car rental experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.

All successful applicants must complete a National Criminal History Check, hold a current full driver’s licence, and have full Australian working rights.
