Job summary

Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia seeks an Arborist to support site-wide arboriculture and horticulture services across the precinct. You will help maintain tree health, safety and presentation while collaborating with venue, event and operations teams.

The role involves coordinating with arborists and contractors, contributing to garden bed planning, turf management and data records, and applying safe practices across a high-profile public environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture) required.
• 3–5 years’ experience in tree assessment or a similar tree management role.
• Current ACUP licence.
• Chainsaw and tree felling certificates.
• Public spaces horticulture/arboriculture experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and teamwork.
• Safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Moderate computer literacy; MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of site-wide tree management program to keep trees healthy and safe.
• Coordinate with arborists and contractors to support tree management.
• Contribute to horticulture programs across gardens, landscapes and open spaces.
• Assist planning of garden beds and large-scale horticultural projects.
• Apply chemicals and fertilisers safely per current standards.
• Support management of high-profile lawns and turf areas.
• Collect and maintain horticulture-related data and records.
• Operate machinery and equipment safely in a busy public environment.
• Identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Collaborate with venue/event teams to support safe event delivery.
• Participate in toolbox talks and promote safe practices.
• Build relationships with tenants, venue teams and partners.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in horticultural practices.
