Job summary

Melbourne Park is seeking an experienced Turf Tradesperson to support turf and horticulture across the precinct. You will maintain lawns, gardens and open spaces and work with venue, event and operations teams to ensure world-class presentation for major events.

Join a high-profile team with a focus on safety, collaboration and continuous improvement. Requires horticulture certification and licences, plus hands-on turf machinery experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf management or Parks & Gardens).
• Current driver’s licence.
• Current ACUP licence.
• Experience operating turf management & horticultural machinery and equipment in a public space.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Understanding of safe work practices and safety requirements.
• Moderate computer literacy (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering the turf management program across lawns and turf areas.
• Support preparation and maintenance of high‑quality lawns and turf.
• Maintain gardens, landscaped areas and open spaces.
• Apply chemicals and fertilisers safely.
• Collect and maintain turf management data across the precinct.
• Operate turf management machinery safely in a busy public environment.
• Identify turf/site issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Collaborate with venue and event teams to support safe event delivery.
• Participate in toolbox talks and promote safe practices.
• Build relationships with tenants, venue teams, partners and hirers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in turf management.
