Job summary

Waratah-Wynyard Council invites applications for an Arboriculturist to support our growing municipality, focusing on high-quality public spaces and effective tree asset management.

You will lead daily operations with the Parks & Reserves Supervisor, oversee maintenance, construction and improvement works, and guide a small team while hands-on in outdoor work across parks, reserves and recreation facilities.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or Cert IV in Arboriculture.
• 2+ years' relevant industry experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience guiding a team.
• Experience operating small plant and equipment.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Medium rigid truck licence (or willingness to obtain).
• Construction Induction White Card and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Local area knowledge.
• Chemical Users Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to the parks team while hands-on in maintenance and improvements.
• Guide and support colleagues in vegetation and tree asset management.
• Collaborate with Parks & Reserves Supervisor on projects.
