Job summary

Belgravia Leisure is seeking an Aquatic Operations Coordinator at Burpengary Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre to deliver a safe, high-quality aquatic environment for the local community. Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will support daily operations, oversee safety, and implement hazard controls across a modern, community-focused facility.

The role requires strong leadership, focus on safety, and the ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends on a rotating roster.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in aquatic operations or similar.
• Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Sound knowledge of work health and safety legislation, evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Demonstrated experience of plant room management and pool operations is essential.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Current First Aid (Level 2) and CPR certificates.
• Blue Card for working with children.
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate and Pool Operations Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day aquatic operations with a strong focus on safety, risk management and compliance.
• Implement hazard prevention strategies and monitor risk across the facility.
• Support incident and accident investigations and ensure safety systems, inspections and records are up to date.
• Drive continuous improvement across OH&S, risk and environmental performance.
• Work independently and as part of the operations team, prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

Join the team at Burpengary Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre and play a key role in delivering a safe, high-quality aquatic environment for the Burpengary and Moreton Bay community. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a modern, community-focused facility committed to health, wellbeing and inclusion.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Aquatic Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day aquatic operations of the centre, with a strong focus on safety, risk management and compliance. You will play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment for staff and patrons by implementing hazard prevention strategies, monitoring risk and ensuring all operational standards are consistently met.

This is a hands-on role where you will oversee emergency equipment readiness, support incident and accident investigations, and ensure all safety systems, inspections and records are up to date. You will also assist in driving continuous improvement across OH&S, risk and environmental performance within the facility.

We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. You will be confident working both independently and as part of a broader operations team, with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you will bring previous experience in a similar position along with a solid understanding of OH&S legislation and aquatic operations. You will also hold a current Pool Lifeguard qualification and First Aid certification.

This role may involve early mornings, evenings and weekend shifts as part of a rotating roster.
