Job summary

DFP Recruitment seeks an experienced APS6 Program Coordinator to support delivery of strategic projects and policy initiatives for a Federal Government agency. This long-term role is nationwide across Australia, welcoming applicants from all states and territories.

You will coordinate projects, engage First Nations communities and contribute to culturally safe policy delivery, with responsibilities spanning briefs, governance, and learning resources. Australian citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in program or policy development within the APS or government environment.
• Experience engaging with First Nations stakeholders in culturally informed projects or policy.
• Strong knowledge of Commonwealth Government processes, governance and risk frameworks.
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in briefs, submissions and reports.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Understanding of cultural safety, co-design and culturally responsive service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support projects, policy initiatives and communications.
• Prepare briefs, submissions, reports and papers for senior executives and governance forums.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including First Nations communities.
• Support co-design and culturally safe approaches to policy and service delivery.
• Develop communications, training and learning resources to strengthen cultural capability.
• Apply research, evidence and stakeholder insights to inform policy and project outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve access and outcomes for First Nations people with disability.
• Contribute to governance, risk management and continuous improvement activities.
