Job summary

Compas Pty Ltd in Canberra is seeking an APS6 Procurement Advisor to deliver end-to-end Commonwealth procurement and contract management within a government environment.

You will lead procurement activities, provide compliant advice, and collaborate with business areas to achieve value-for-money outcomes, while aligning with CPRs and governance requirements. A Baseline security clearance is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience providing end-to-end procurement and contract management support.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Certificate IV in Government procurement, contract management, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement, CPRs and public sector governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement activities including planning, market engagement, evaluation, contract establishment and contract management.
• Provide procurement and contract management advice aligned with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and relevant governance requirements.
• Partner with business areas to develop procurement strategies and sourcing approaches that achieve value-for-money outcomes.
• Prepare and review procurement documentation and support contract variations, extensions, performance management and dispute resolution.

Job Title:
APS6 Procurement Advisor | Commonwealth Procurement
Deliver end-to-end Commonwealth procurement and contract management activities, providing expert advice and supporting compliant, efficient and value-for-money outcomes within an Australian Government environment.

Location:ACT, NSW
Contract Duration: 1 October 2026 to 30 June 2027
Security Clearance Requirement: Baseline
Closing Date: Monday 31 August 2026

Essential Tasks:

• Lead end-to-end procurement activities including planning, market engagement, evaluation, contract establishment and contract management.
• Provide procurement and contract management advice aligned with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and relevant governance requirements.
• Partner with business areas to develop procurement strategies and sourcing approaches that achieve value-for-money outcomes.
• Prepare and review procurement documentation and support contract variations, extensions, performance management and dispute resolution.

Key Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience providing end-to-end procurement and contract management support and compliance advice.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Certificate IV in Government procurement, contract management, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement, the Resource Management Framework, CPRs and public sector governance.
