Job summary

Skillinvest is recruiting an Apprenticeship Consultant to manage a regional caseload of apprentices and trainees, building strong partnerships with local employers in Ballarat or Horsham. You will have autonomy to manage your own portfolio, engaging regularly with apprentices, trainees and businesses to drive meaningful local outcomes.

The role suits someone with hands-on business experience who can recruit, develop and retain employees, guiding learners through employment journeys and helping

Qualifications

• Has experience building and maintaining employer relationships.
• Experience recruiting, supervising and mentoring apprentices is preferred.
• Understands employer and workforce needs and can align them with opportunities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Able to work independently, stay organised and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong employer relationships.

• Conduct workplace visits and provide mentoring and support.
• Complete inductions, safety checks and compliance tasks.

Skillinvest is seeking an Apprenticeship Consultant to support and manage a caseload of apprentices and trainees while building strong partnerships with local employers. With a flexible base location in Ballarat or Horsham, you'll enjoy the autonomy of managing your own region while making a real difference through regular engagement with apprentices, trainees and businesses across the local community.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on business experience and a proven ability to recruit, develop and retain employees. You'll use your practical knowledge to guide apprentices and trainees throughout their employment journey, help businesses grow their workforce, and contribute to positive outcomes across your region.

As an Apprenticeship Consultant with Skillinvest, you'll enjoy the autonomy to manage your own portfolio, build lasting relationships within the community, and make a genuine impact on the future of local industries.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Building and maintaining strong employer relationships
• Managing and sourcing apprentice and trainee placements with host employers
• Conducting workplace visits and providing mentoring and support
• Completing inductions, safety checks and compliance activities
• Managing employment and administrative requirements.

IS THIS YOU?

• Has owned, operated or held a supervisory role within a business.
• Has experience recruiting, supervising, employing and mentoring apprentices
• Understands employer and workforce needs
• Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Is organised, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Holds a current driver's licence
