Job summary

NJR Refrigeration and Air Conditioning – Rockhampton QLD is seeking a 1st Year Apprentice Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team in Rockhampton. The successful applicant will have good mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in completing a four-year apprenticeship, with a late-year start ideal for a Year 12 leaver.

As part of the apprenticeship, you will receive training in commercial refrigeration installation and repairs, air conditioning systems for commercial and residential

Qualifications

• Must commit to a 4 year apprenticeship, including TAFE.
• Self-motivated with a great work ethic and attitude to work.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn technical skills and knowledge.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate well with others.
• Hold a drivers licence (provisional acceptable) and have access to reliable transport.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools.
• Construction blue/white card.
• Live locally in the Rockhampton region.
• Must have completed year 10 schooling.

Responsibilities

• All types of Commercial Refrigeration including installation and repairs and diagnosing equipment.
• All types of Air Conditioning Systems for both Commercial and Residential applications, this will also include pipework, duct work, sheet metal ductwork, flex duct work, electrical, mechanical and diagnosing equipment.

The successful applicant will have good mechanical aptitude skills and have completed relevant pre-vocational training courses (if any) and demonstrate a genuine interest in completing a 4 year apprenticeship. Successful applicant won't be required to start until late year making this a perfect job for a current year 12 school leaver.
