Liebherr-Australia is offering a Mining Apprentice role in Singleton, NSW. You’ll gain hands-on experience assisting technicians with inspection, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, while training at trade school and building a foundation for a long-term mining career.

You’ll work under mentors, learn to diagnose faults, handle tools safely, and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or committed to completing a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.
  • Interest in mechanical equipment and long-term trade career.
  • Able to complete training and workplace documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified technicians with inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults while developing technical skills.
  • Safely operate workshop tools, equipment and lifting devices while maintaining a clean, organised work environment.
  • Complete apprenticeship training, attend required trade school and maintain training records.
  • Work across different service areas and participate in on-the-job training.

Job description

Supported by experienced tradespeople & mentors, you’ll develop valuable technical skills, nationally recognised training and build strong foundation for a rewarding career in the mining industry.

Start Date: Monday 18th January 2027

Responsiblities:
  • Assist qualified technicians with the inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults while developing strong technical skills.
  • Safely operate workshop tools, equipment and lifting devices while maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
  • Successfully complete your apprenticeship training, attend required trade school and maintain training records.
  • Work across different service areas and participate in on-the-job training to build broad industry experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement in everything you do.
Skills & Experience:
  • Enrolled in, or committed to completing, a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.
  • A genuine interest in mechanical equipment, heavy machinery, and developing a long‑term trade career.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills, with the ability to complete training and workplace documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely use hand tools and follow workplace safety procedures.
  • Willingness to learn new technical skills through structured training, on‑the‑job experience, and trade school attendance. Reliable, motivated, and team‑oriented, with a positive attitude and commitment to personal and professional development.
