This entry-level program offers hands-on service, maintenance, and support training for heavy earthmoving equipment across construction and civil projects. You’ll work with experienced technicians, learn diagnostic and repair skills, attend trade school, and complete a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology while earning a trade qualification and building a

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or committed to completing a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.
• Strong interest in mechanical equipment, heavy machinery, and a long-term trade career.
• Good literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills for training and workplace docs.
• Proven ability to safely use hand tools and follow safety procedures.
• Willingness to learn new technical skills through structured training and on‑the‑job experience.
• Reliable, motivated and team‑oriented with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified technicians with inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy equipment and machinery.
• Learn to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults while developing technical skills.
• Safely operate workshop tools, equipment and lifting devices, keeping a clean, organized environment.
• Successfully complete apprenticeship training, attend trade school and maintain training records.
• Work across service areas and participate in on‑the‑job training for broad industry experience.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety, quality, teamwork and continuous improvement.
