News Corp Australia is offering an Apprenticeship for a Printing Machinist at our Townsville Print Centre. You will learn alongside experienced press operators, focusing on operating and maintaining a Man Roland Geoman press and plate making machines.

You will gain industry-specific skills to perform tasks safely and efficiently, with opportunities to develop through hands-on training and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Willingness to work a 7 day rotating roster with weekend and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate the Man Roland Geoman printing press and related machines.
• Operate press folder, reelstand, colour and registration desk.
• Perform colour matching and quality control.
• Change plates and adjust press settings.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Handle stock and prepare jobs for production.
• Understand print production workflows from start to finish.
• Plan presses using the PPM system.
