Banana Shire Council in Central Queensland invites applications for an apprenticeship supporting the reticulation team while you work toward a Plumber and Drainer qualification. Qualifikationen

• Construction Induction White Card.

Aufgaben

• Support reticulation team while undertaking learning and training to achieve the Plumber and Drainer qualification.
• Undertake plumbing and labouring duties as appropriate with skills and training.
• Assist with diagnosis and repair of plumbing and pipeline problems.
• Assist with construction and installation of water and sewer assets to approved standards.
• Assist with municipal swimming pool maintenance as required.
• Assist with the maintenance of Water and Sewerage Treatment Plants.
• Complete job cards and other paperwork as required.
• Participate in training, both at TAFE and on the job.
• Maintain an appropriate record of training in line with apprenticeship requirements.
• Undertake routine administrative tasks as required by the position.
• Assist senior staff to continuously improve work processes and develop new practices.
• Participate in training, exercises and response to disaster management and recovery as required.
• Undertake other relevant duties as directed, consistent with skills, competence and training.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCE REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory

• Willingness and ability to obtain Certificate III in Plumbing
• A pass in year 10 English and Maths
• Hold and maintain a current class ‘C’ manual driver’s licence (or actively work toward attaining one when eligible)
• Construction Induction White Card

Desirable

• Queensland C class manual drivers licence (minimum requirement – provisional licence)

ABILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Compulsory

• Sound level of oral, numeric and written communication skills
• Basic computer and keyboard skills
• Ability to work effectively in both a team environment and independently
