Responsibilities

• Assist experienced plasterers with plaster finishes on internal and external surfaces.

• Maintain a clean and safe on-site environment.
• Follow health and safety procedures.

Job description

Finer Finishes Co. Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Apprentice Plasterer to join our team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to learn and develop your skills in the building trades, specifically in plastering. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced plasterers, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of plastering work whilst working towards your formal qualification. This role is crucial to our business as it supports our ongoing projects and helps develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople in the industry.

What you'll be doing

Assisting experienced plasterers with the preparation and application of plaster finishes to internal and external surfaces

Preparing work areas, including cleaning, protecting and setting up equipment and materials

Learning proper techniques for mixing, spreading and finishing plaster materials

Assisting with the installation and finishing of plasterboard and other wall and ceiling systems

Helping to maintain a clean and safe work environment on site

Following health and safety procedures and requirements at all times

Attending and completing required training and education components of your apprenticeship

Reporting to supervisors and providing feedback on work completed

What we're looking for

Formal completion of Year 10 or equivalent education as a minimum requirement

A genuine interest in learning the plastering trade and commitment to completing your apprenticeship

Strong physical fitness and the ability to work on ladders and scaffolding safely

Excellent attention to detail and a desire to produce quality workmanship

Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment

A responsible attitude towards health and safety practices on construction sites

Reliability and punctuality

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

A willingness to learn and receive constructive feedback from experienced tradespeople

Preferably some experience or knowledge of the building trades, although not essential
