Job summary

Busways Group in Blacktown is offering an Apprentice Panel Shop role to learn auto body repair under supervision with a four-year training contract.

You will work with a mentor, undertake a nationally recognised training program Auto Body Repair - Cert III Automotive Body Repair Technology, and gain hands-on experience across Euro 5/6 vehicle tech and heavy vehicle brakes.

Qualifications

Completion of grade 10 or above high schooling or tertiary equivalent.
Good Mathematics, Science and English skills.
A strong work ethic which means you will be reliable, punctual, honest, and committed to completing your trade qualification.
A genuine interest in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.
Good communication skills.
A strong focus on safety in the workplace.
A positive ‘Can Do’ attitude and be self-motivated, conscientious, and eager to learn.
The ability to take direction and show initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check, and working with children check.
Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

Under supervision, learning the skills required to be part of the Workshop team.
Performing minor repairs and service of vehicles and equipment, in a timely manner, within your skill level and experience, under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson.
Enter into a 4-year training contract within a secure employment environment, undertaking a nationally recognised training program in Auto Body Repair - Cert III Automotive Body Repair Technology.
Completing all units of the apprenticeship to the required standards and within the required time frame(s).
Attending all required TAFE classes under the guidance of your mentors, supervisor and teachers.
Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties.

What We Offer

Earning Potential: Up to â$55,000+â including reasonable overtime loading and generous allowances âInclusive of super
ââ$20.1134â - â$31.6052â per hour (dependent on age & applicable apprenticeship year)
Attendance Allowance: â$16 payable on rostered worked hours
Tool Allowance: â$8.74 - $15.48 payable weekly when applicableâ (dependant on apprenticeship year)

Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.

You can expect to be provided with all necessary training, this will include relevant information about our various makes and models of vehicles to ensure a thorough understanding of standards required to meet contract obligations.
