Job summary

Gundagai Meat Processors in regional New South Wales is offering an apprentice metal fabricator/welder role within the Maintenance team. You will train in Arc, MIG and TIG welding and participate in plant upgrade projects.

You will work under supervision alongside experienced tradespeople, adhering to WHS and QA standards while attending TAFE to develop your skills and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn metal fabrication and welding skills.
• Interest in mechanical trades and hands-on training.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn Arc, MIG and TIG Welding methods.
• Assist with scheduled plant and equipment upgrade work.
• Contribute to continuous improvement tasks.
• Respond to breakdowns with tradespeople as needed.
• Under supervision, repair and service faulty equipment and structures.
• Follow WHS and QA policies and procedures.
• Work with multiple trades and learn from experienced staff.
• Attend TAFE and maintain a high standard of work.

We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice metal fabricator / welder to join our Maintenance team. GMP has a modern purpose-built maintenance shed for the team that makes working enjoyable while working with a top team of individuals. About the role

Key Duties include:

• Learning Arc, MIG and TIG Welding

• Work alongside multiple trades and learn from experienced staff
