Job summary

JBS Australia in Toowoomba is recruiting an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join our busy Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this full-time role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with optional overtime on Saturdays.

Remuneration is governed by the Beef City Maintenance EBA, with first-year wages at 75% of tradesperson rate, ~ $1,413 per week, increasing with progression while you complete training and TAFE components.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in the trade.
• Experience in the meat industry is advantageous but not required.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Completion of High School Certificate is highly regarded.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work.
• Good attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Able to communicate at all levels.
• Able to work autonomously or in a team.
• Flexibility to work different shifts if required.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Current driver’s license and reliable transport.
• Good understanding of mathematics.
• Basic understanding of computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop skills to maximise equipment uptime via preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Follow all safe work practices and procedures.
• Work under guidance of qualified tradespeople.
• Follow instructions from tradespeople and supervisors.
• Attend TAFE and complete required training components.
