Job summary

Hoerbiger Australia in Murarrie, Brisbane, invites applications for a multi-skilled Fitter & Turner to begin a four-year competency-based trade apprenticeship. You will gain hands-on experience manufacturing with conventional and CNC machines, repairing and testing components, and performing workshop and field service across compressors and rotating equipment, with warehouse/logistics exposure.

Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, safety focus, and be willing to travel;

• Willingness to travel and work in metropolitan and regional locations; physically demanding workshop environment.

Job description

Based in Murarrie with opportunities to learn in Field and Workshop positions , this role strives to develop a multi-skilled Fitter & Turner throughout a 4 year competency based trade apprenticeship. The role will give exposure to a range of tasks demanded of a modern fitter and turner including:

Manufacturing using conventional & CNC machinery – Lathes, Milling Machines and associated workshop equipment

Component repair, assembly and testing

Workshop & Field Service – maintenance and overhauls of reciprocating compressors and rotating equipment

Warehouse and Logistics Training - understanding parts interpretation and logistics processes

Potential candidates should have:

High attention to detail with interest in mechanical machinery

Good mechanical aptitude and enjoy working with your hands

A strong regard for safety and strive to adhere to Hoerbiger Quality, Safety & Environment Management Systems

Willingness to undertake travel and work in metropolitan and regional locations to develop your skills. This is a physically demanding job and you will be mainly working in busy (sometimes noisy) workshops.
