Job summary

NEPEAN Engineering in Prestons, NSW is seeking a motivated 3rd Year Apprentice Fitter Machinist to focus your trade career on machining within a supportive workshop environment.

You'll gain hands-on experience operating manual lathes and milling machines, supporting CNC setup, reading drawings, measuring to specifications, and completing finishing operations. You will also assist with mechanical fitting, assembly and routine maintenance as required.

Qualifications

• Currently progressing through a Fitter Machinist apprenticeship.
• Keen to develop as a machinist with hands-on practice.
• Safety-minded and reliable in a workshop environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes and milling machines to manufacture components.
• Support CNC setup and operation, load jobs and monitor cycles.
• Read engineering drawings and follow work instructions.
• Measure, mark out and inspect components to drawings and tolerances.
• Finish machined parts with deburring and grinding as required.
• Assist with mechanical fitting, assembly and routine maintenance.
