Job summary

Laurent Bakery Group in Melbourne's Braeside production site is seeking an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to keep our bakery equipment reliable and safe. You'll assist with mechanical fitting, perform regular checks, read diagrams, and respond to maintenance requests.

Ideal candidates are in 2nd or 3rd year, or 1st year apprentices; basic machining and welding skills are a bonus. Flexibility for rotating shifts and a hands-on approach are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with mechanical fitting and maintenance tasks
• Conduct regular equipment checks and preventative maintenance such as oiling to ensure minimum levels of machinery down time.
• Interpret technical diagrams and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
• Prioritise and manage daily maintenance tasks and respond to internal work orders.
• Develop, implement, and update the Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Safely carry out manual handling duties.
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and quality standards across all maintenance activities.

With two large production facilities in Braeside, a third currently under development, and 17 retail outlets across Melbourne, our business is recognised for its commitment to quality and innovation. As a rapidly growing and dynamic company, we are seeking an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join our team at the Braeside production site. This vital role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our manufacturing equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with mechanical fitting and maintenance tasks
