Job summary

Fagan Bakery Services Pty Ltd in Braeside, Victoria, is seeking an experienced Fitter to join our maintenance team. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, repairs, and commissioning new bakery equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

You will read and interpret technical manuals, work both independently and with the team, and uphold safety regulations, with opportunities for ongoing training and development in a fully equipped workshop.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications as a Fitter with welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on bakery machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment, and carry out repairs.
• Install and commission new equipment, and retrofit existing machinery.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery for assessment.

What you'll be doing

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on a variety of bakery machinery and equipment

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment, and carry out necessary repairs

Install and commission new equipment, and retrofit existing machinery

Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities

Comply with all health, safety and environmental regulations

Ability to disassemble and reassemble machinery for assessment.

What we're looking for

Formal trade qualification as a Fitter, with relevant welding experience

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals

Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

A commitment to safety and attention to detail

Be able to work independently and with a team

Disconnect and Reconnect license an advantage
