This four-year apprenticeship includes paid study time to complete your Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician at Port Macquarie TAFE and hands-on experience across essential community infrastructure.

You'll work on electrical infrastructure projects, three-phase motors, and industrial wiring, with on-the-job training and strong career progression opportunities within Council.

Job description

To help us achieve this we are seeking applications from enthusiastic and proactive individuals wishing to commence a career as an Electrical Apprentice. This full-time, four-year apprenticeship offershands-on experience working on important community infrastructure and providespaid study time to complete your Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician at Port Macquarie TAFE.

As part of ourteam, you'll gain practical skills working on:

• Electrical infrastructure construction projects
• Three-phase motors and control switchboardinstallations
• Industrial wiring for water and sewer processingplants
• Maintenance of high voltage water supply pumpingstations
• Community assets including airports, sportingfields, event centres, pools, buildings, waste management and emergency services facilities
• Installation, maintenance, and repair ofelectrical equipment to a high standard

You'll also gain valuable exposureand experience working with other trades across mechanical, instrumentation,data communications and automation systems broadening your skill set and futureopportunities.

We are looking for individuals who are:

• Willing to learn on thejob and ask questions
• Interested inmaintaining and improving community facilities
• Team players with strongcommunication skills (both written and verbal)
• Safety-conscious,committed to working safely for yourself and others
• Able to commit to studyrequirements and complete training in a timely and organised way
• Hold a current Driver'sLicense (Red P's or more)
• Hold a current general construction induction card (white card) or ability to obtain prior to commencement
• Able to comply withuniform and PPE requirements, including while at TAFE

Remuneration and Benefits:

Employment type: Full-time, four-yearapprenticeship with paid study time (38 hours per week with a 9-day fortnight)

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting from $865.85 to $1043.99 per week depending on school level obtained and experience.
