Job summary

Flutterbies Cottage Cafe is seeking an Apprentice Chef to join our busy kitchen. The role involves working at a fast pace with weekend shifts, and you will be trained in basic culinary skills, knife work, and use of commercial equipment under the guidance of the head chef.

The ideal candidate is passionate about food, career-driven, and a team player who is reliable and well-presented. Training covers all aspects of food preparation and kitchen procedures.

Qualifications

• Training to learn procedures and duties in food preparation.
• Assisting the chef in the preparation and cooking of meals.
• Working under the supervision of the chef.
• Operating commercial cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, fryers, ovens and stoves.
• Sanitation and kitchen cleanliness.
• Eligibility: Australian citizen, permanent resident or full working rights.

We are looking for an Apprentice Chef to join our busy team.

Our kitchen works at a fast pace and work schedules will include weekends.

You will need to be passionate about food, career driven and a team player.

Training for an apprentice cook covers basic culinary skills, knife skills, knowledge of ingredients, use of commercial equipment and kitchen procedures.

Your main duties include but not limited to:

• Assisting the chef in the preparation and cooking of meals.
• Training to learn procedures and duties in food preparation.
• Working under the supervision of the chef.
• Operating commercial cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, fryers, ovens and stoves.
• Serves food when required.
• Kitchen cleaning, such as dish washing and equipment cleaning, sanitation.
• Assists in other areas of food preparation and storage.
